We are going to be finishing up our Industrial Revolution unit this week. The schedule looks like this:
Monday in-class: Continue discussing effects of I.R. and the spread of industrialization; in-class response to the following question:
"How significant were the changes the industrial revolution brought to the world? How enduring were they? Explain your conclusion. Think about economic, political, and social effects"
Monday homework: 25-4 Guided Reading (read pgs. 647-650)
Tuesday in-class: Capitalism and socialism, answer questions on the economic systems
Tuesday homework: TCN rest of 25-4. Pages 650-652. You can avoid writing notes about the United States, as this is a world history class (but feel free to take down whatever you think is important)
Wednesday in-class: Discuss industrial revolution reform movements, etc. Work on Diary Entries.

This week, we will continue our focus on Nationalism. We started focusing on Italian unification last Thursday -- the creation of an Italian nation-state.
In class: Review Italian unification -- create visual organizer on Italian problems after unification.
Read document: Garibaldi's Proclamation of 1860 and answered the following questions.
1) According to Garibaldi, what did the embattled Sicilians need to fight Italy's enemies? (use specific quote)
2) Why did Garibaldi think Italians should volunteer to help the Sicilians? Respond in S.P.A. format

For homework on Monday night -- finish up TCN 24-3 (you should have already completed the first four pages of the section).
