In class: Review Italian unification -- create visual organizer on Italian problems after unification.

Read document: Garibaldi's Proclamation of 1860 and answered the following questions.

1) According to Garibaldi, what did the embattled Sicilians need to fight Italy's enemies? (use specific quote)

2) Why did Garibaldi think Italians should volunteer to help the Sicilians? Respond in S.P.A. format

S.P.A. format =

  • Statement (1 sentence statement answering the question)
  • Proof (1 quote from the document that proves your statement / backs up your answer)
  • Analysis (3-5 sentences that elaborates on your answer and proof)

For homework on Monday night -- finish up TCN 24-3 (you should have already completed the first four pages of the section).
